You are here

confused again

Hi All

Since Thursday when my nurse rang me and told me i am stuck at 5%pcr i have been doing some research and have now managed to confuse myself more (not hard to do i know) Ok here it is, when i was diagnosed i was 96% firstly would this be for both bone marrow and pcr? After 3 months my PCR had come down to 36% which is great then i reached 5% in my next pcr and thats where i am stuck, but my bone marrow is at 20% ok so if i am right does this mean that in my bone marrow result i think its 20 cells that are tested which means that 20% would indicate that 4 cells are still positive, then my pcr is 5% and again i think its 100,000 cells that are tested which means that there is 5000 cells that are positive, am i on the right track here or am i completely losing it? Also how do you know how many blasts are in your bone marrow? Sorry if i have asked this before but i have researched more and as i said i am now very confused, I am going back to the hosp on Tues and have some questions although i am only having a blood test and not seeing my doc i just want to make sure what i am asking for is right.

Again sorry for the long blurb

Thanks

Hi Ni, Like you i am quite confussed, as 3 months ago i was told i was 35% PH+ 6 weeks later PCR 14%, then bone marrow result this week again another 6 weeks later( thus 3 months since the last bone marriw ) and now at 15%PH+ !!!
i have posted this similar question below on the end of my 4 way translocation note.

Hi Nigel

Thanks for the reply, I'm sorry you are confused as well, I think my confusion is I am unsure which test is which, and that the results always seem similar, basically do the 2 tests measure the same thing except 1 in your blood and the other in your marrow? And is this why the results seem to be similar, i will stop now as i am just confusing myself more which is not hard to do ha ha.

Hope your keeping well and your questions can be answered.

Take care

Naomii x
