Hi all,
I'm interested to hear from others who may have taken a while to reach MMR.
I've been taking part in a trial for over 2 years now(diagnosed Sept 2010.)
Started on Glivec for first 6 months and then moved to Nilotinib.
My latest PCR is 0.12
Previous results;
0.48
0.53
0.16
0.19
They tested for PB? mutations and none. I had to take a break from Nilotinib due to raised liver enzymes in 2011 but have been back on with no problems or side effects since Nov 2011.
I just feel like my results really creep along and it is frustrating.
Anyone else feel the same? I can't complain as I feel well, just thought I might have got a few more zeros under my belt by now and we were also hoping for another baby one day.
Thanks
Kate
You are here
MMR will it ever happen?
Sometimes it can take a while for the tki gets the patients to MMR.
Here are some statistics: http://community.lls.org/thread/11781
Seeing you had 2 tests at around 50, then a drop to 16/19, then 12 i would think there is a good chance that one of your next 2 tests will be MMR. Trends are important, and your looks good :)

Hi Kate,
First let me say that I do understand why you feel frustrated- especially as you want another baby, your journey to MMR must seem slow! But, I agree with Teddy, you are showing a downward trend, maybe slow but it is steadily reducing.
And now your latest result is 0.12? Well that is virtually MMR according to the international scale:
MMR = 0.1% (or a 3 log reduction).
Of course it depends whether the lab where your PCRs are done uses the international scale- maybe you could ask.
Nevertheless, you are doing very well as you do not have problems with nilotinib and your % is on a downward slope, fingers crossed that your next PCR will show a further drop.
As long as you carry on with your therapy and take it every day I am sure you will see a deeper MR with time.
Sandy
Thanks so much for your encouragement Sandy and Teddy. Had a look at the stats on that site, very interesting. Lets hope slow and steady downward trend will continue. I'll be sure to post on the forum when I reach the elusive MMR.
