Should I worry?

Categories:

Hi all. I see a doc at Sloan in NY . Six months ago my CML bloods registered 0.002 then three months ago it was not detectable. I was so excited! Had my bloods drawn again  last week and just got the results of 0.004. My doc at Sloan in NYC says it is still a major molecular response and he is very happy with the results. Any thoughts? I’m worried.

Thanks!

Major molecular response (MMR, or MR3) is 0.1.  You are a couple of logs' worth beyond (below) that, congratulations!  In many labs, your number would not even be reported - they would call it "below the limits of detection by our lab."  You are technically in Deep Molecular Response (DMR, or MR4) which is just about as good as it gets.  You really are at MR4.5.  There is no statistical significance whatsoever between 0.002 and 0.004.  Many times people will fluctuate between "undetectable" and numbers like yours.
