switiching from imatinib to bosutinib

Can anyone give me results after switching to bosutinib.

Any particular reason you switched to this drug? Was a mutation analysis performed also?

I haven’t switched yet. Numbers are slowly going up a after being stable for several years No testing for mutations has been done  I was wondering if anyone had changed from Imatinib to Bosutinib and their side affects

Hi Ray,

Yes, I know someone who had sub-optimal results on 4 out of the 5 available TKis (including ponatinib) and as a last resort tried bosutinib. She responded very well to this TKI and is still doing well after some years. Hope this gives you some confidence.

No worries. Yeah normally an analysis is done to see what mutation if any is present before deciding on what TKI to give. Maybe some docs do this blindly I don’t know.

I agree Alex.  This was a new Dr yesterday and I asked what the Oncology gene, or mutation was and he didn't know.  I'm in US and use the VAMC. Its the Medical facility for veterans.  August will be 5 yrs with CML.    Thank God for this forum.    Best to you  Ray
