TKI and Tinnitus

Hey, Felix. Reading your various posts, I feel like you're my twin. However, I had tinnitus before any of the CML saga began, and I can't say either imatinib or dasatinib made a noticeable difference, BUT the tinnitus HAS gotten worse over the years. So, cause and effect? Jury's out. If "they" ever figure out where tinnitus comes from, then we might be able to project a possible interaction with TKI's, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm quite cynical as I approach old age, as all my complaints are both inexplicable and incurable - and a lot of them untreatable!
Hi Kat, this getting old lark isn't fun is it ,everyday I am moaning about something.I have awful back pain now which is in a strange place ,on the right side of my upper back,can't sit for long, can't stand for long and can't sit in the car comfortably,docs just say it's my posture ,but how can it be when I have it when lying down.Fed up being so tired too, I do a job like dishes or a bit of ironing and have to have a rest .All the supplements I take too ,I should be feeling great but I don't .So Twinny ,we just have to get on with it don't we ,haha ,take care ,Denise.

I guess that we put a lot of maladies down to tkis or we look for side effects.Apparently tkis do have a lot of musculoskeletal side effects which can impinge on the joints as well as nerves in the neck and back but the most common for me are muscular like cramps etc.
Now for tintinus this could be a long shot but apparently it can be set off by a disorder of the jaw joint just below the ear and this is called TMJ syndrome (tempromandibular joint);it can also set off ear pains and neck disorders or pains as well as headaches.
The problem is that your GP will refer you to the dentist and vice versa and only a handful of physicians are qualified surgeons as well as dentists -maxillofacial specialists (maxfax in slang).
I have a left side TM joint that that is a bit wonky so have to wear a lower plastic mouth shield at night and do exercises on the neck etc and mouth/jaw otherwise I suffer.My hearing is not perfect but fortunately I dont have tintinus.
My brother suffers from severe tintinus and is partly deaf and only wears an upper set of false dentures but refuses to believe my suggestion to have the tm joint checked etc.
I am sure that there must be other reasons for tintinus to develop but these may or may not be aggravated by the tkis we take

Felix - Two things: The upper right back pain could be shoulder or neck related, rather than spine. Could be a rotator cuff issue, or bursitis. If you can roll around on a lacrosse ball, that helped me. Standard PT exercises for the neck, pulling shoulder blades together, and upper back can help.
Second, A note on fatigue: I only shampoo once a week and only one lather because I can't hold my arms up that long. Afterwards, I have to put my hair in a towel and lie down for awhile before I can do anything else. This is Old Age Plus, I believe. CML + TKI + AGE = LIFE.
I never had a problem until I went on 100mg of Sprycel. It was so bad at one point I thought I was going to lose my hearing. Now on 40mg and it's so much better. I'm almost certain it was from being on 100mg.

Should I be really concerned about my hearing before taking Sprycel? My hearing now is not that good, and I use hearing aids most of the time. My doctor prescribed me 100md of Sprycel, and now I worry it might make me deaf.
