Imatinib latest bcr/ abl result

Hi all,

I had diagnosed with CP cml in sep 2019, after one year my result was hovering around 0.7 for 3 pcr tests and my dr changed(I was not convinced)my med to Bosutinib 500mg, after an year I had acquired V299L mutation in Feb 2022..my dr put me on Imatinib in march 2022..may pcr was 0.09..hit mmr 2.5 yrs after diagnosis(yay)..latest result in sept 2022 is 0.27..I’m bit worried that it jumped a bit(hoping its a blip) and may have acquired new mutation..Is this normal?? any inputs are appreciated..

Hi, Brett,

I have no first hand knowledge but I remember an article talking about the most effective TKI against various mutations. I haven't relocated it yet but it appears from a couple of articles (one is quite a bit older) that nilotinib may be the best TKI for V299L.
