You are here

19 years since diagnosis 😊

Just thought I’d pop on and give some hope and positivity to anyone newly diagnosed .

back in 2002  I was 26 with a new born baby feeling tired like most new mums, but I felt something wasn’t quite right , visit to the docs several times for bloods then bang... cml .. I had a bmt transplant going ahead but a few months before glivec had started to work it’s magic , so transplant on hold , bloods carried on improving , 5 years in and   Achieved mmr 🎉. Life has been one big tiredness but I’m here and very grateful for glivec .
starting dose 400mg

then increased 600mg then the last 12 months I’ve gone to 500, 400, 300, and I’m now on 200 which I’m happy to stay at x

That is a lovely positive story, giving hope to newcomers

Thank you for sharing.  I think people forget to pop in and encourage others once they are past 10 years and start thinking of TKI like a Vitamin.  It is still cancer, and scary for those diagnosed at a young age (some with young kids at home).  Thankful for TKI.

Absolutely amazing thank you for dropping in to share your story. When people drop off here I can worry - it just means they’ve moved on and over cml!

congrags!

Fantastic Thank you for sharing your story as it is encouraging

Gracias por compartir tu experiencia. Dios la bendiga.
