Hi everyone,
Gary has been on 400mg Glivec since September 2004. He quickly reached CCR but then in October 2006 he increased to 600mg as he had some resistance. As his PCR is not where the haemotologist would like it to be, he is being considered for a trial at Manchester of Nilotinib. Does anyone have any experience on this drug and its side effects and potency? Thanks for any info..
Rachel

NILOTINIB
Hi Rachel
This is a pretty good drug. Just back from a meeting in Germany and Tasigna looks to be an amazing drug which will work on Dasatinib and Imatinib resistant patients. The only mutation it does not work on is T315i. Patients who have been resistant to Dasatinib/Sprycel have responded to Tasigna. Side effects are few and comparable to Glivec [even less than Glivec in fact] Get Gary on that trial asap !
Please keep us posted.
Best wishes
Elizabeth
