6 weeks on Dasatanib and feel much better

Just wanted to share my expereinces since my moving to Dasatnib 6 weeks ago. You may recall I had a real bad first night but since then I have not experinced the same things. In fact since coming of Imatanib and onto Dasatnib I have found that.

1. I have not sufferred any cramps at all, which is something I had real troubles with on a daily basis with Imatinib in my hands, legs and feet
2. There has been no system issues with nausea or diarohea at all
3. My Eczema and dry skin has really cleared up
4. The general tiredness has been much reduced

Overall I have found it so much more easy to take as well, as it can be taken with or without a meal and there is no need to drink a pint of water at the same time. Also oddly i found that at first it was a real struggle running and doing gym work but have built back up to fitness levels of a couple of months ago.

Rob

I have had some minor reactions such as hot flushes and burning patches of skin, but these are so insignificant when compared to previous problems that I hardly feel i can complain.

Dear Rob.... this is really good news. I had thought from your initial reaction of dasatinib that you might not handle it very well.... so - good to hear the you are feeling so much better now and that you have got back to your previous level of fitness with hardly any side effect issues. It is well known that the side effect profiles of each of the 3 drugs currently available do not cross over.. i.e each has a different set of side effects. It seems that the 2nd generation of TKI's are an improvement on imatinib.

Best wishes,

Sandy
