BCR ABL 24 Months

Categories:

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share my recent results to give everyone some level of comfort around variations of BCR-ABL levels (42 years old/400mg Imatinib daily/low risk at diagnosis):

12M - 0,150% (bordeline MMR)
15M - 0,059% (MMR)
18M - 0,074% (MMR, unexplainable rise – omeprazole daily regime might have affected and low vitamin D levels)
19M - 0,078% (MMR, stabilization – omeprazole daily regime continued and low vitamin D levels)
24M - 0,030% (MMR 3,5, discontinued omeprazole and started taking vitamin D supplements daily since 19M)

Lessons learned in the last months:
1- Roll with the punches.
2- Vitamin D everyday !!
3- There’s a lot more behind BCR-ABL numbers (a lot that we don’t control).
4- BCR-ABL Ins35 has not affected reaching the MMR mark and diving below it.

Keep safe.

How much vitamin D3 do you take per day? Do you know your vitamin D blood level?

4000 DUs daily.

My levels are at low 30s ng/ml with the daily supplement.

PS - My skin is very dark, quasi-northern african

This is why blood testing is so important, because it can guide you how much vitamin D you need on a personal basis. I presume you meant "IUs" daily.

To double your blood level (from 30's to 60's), you would need to take 10,000 IU's per day, 5 days out of the week for three weeks (50,000 IU's per week). If you take vitamin K2 (which I strongly encourage), it will take longer. Vitamin K2 "consumes" D in the process of carboxylation in order to bind calcium and deliver to bone. In fact, it is very unlikely to overdose on vitamin D if plenty of K2 is around and you stay at 10,000 or lower. 10,000 IU's per day of vitamin D3, is an upper limit. I would never take more than that per day.
