Hi All,

I've not posted in here since September 2020 when I was first diagnosed with CLM. Since then medication has been going well with just the odd blip that required me to have a short break of a couple of weeks in the early days that was due to my daily dosage causing indigestion issues. My dosage (daily) was reduced from 400mg to 300mg and all has worked well since.

At my last consultation in August my ABL level was down to 0.018 and I have my next review in the next couples.

Since August (just before my last consultation) I had noticed more of what feel like muscle twinges that feels like a mix of pins and needles / cramp onset but only down the left side of my back. This was discuss with the consultant and as it seems to be bought on by movement it was thought to be medication / muscular related… my question is has anyone else experienced this feeling from time to time, and could it be that as my ABL1 level is reducing I’m now feeling side affects of the medication that I hadn’t really noticed before.

FYI I take 300mg Imatinib.

Interested to hear and feedback and hope that all is well for everyone!

Jason

All TKI's, but especially imatinib can lead to magnesium deficiency. Supplementing with magnesium will usually solve this problem and do so within 24 hours. Consider taking 400 mg magnesium supplement (as taurate or citrate) split in two doses (morning, evening before sleep). This is the minimum amount needed to correct muscle cramping and related.

Thank you Scuba. I will look in to this 👍🏼
